Barbaresco DOCG 2016 is ready to present itself to the world.

The Enoteca Regionale of Barbaresco is pleased to announce the presentation of the 2016 vintage of Barbaresco DOCG in a unique two-day Event, which will start on Sunday 28 April and end on Monday 29 April 2019, in the fascinating stage of the historic Castle of Neive and with an exceptional guest: the American wine journalist and writer Kerin O’Keefe, Italian publisher of wine Enthusiast – the authoritative American magazine dedicated to the world of wine – and author of the best-selling “Barolo and Barbaresco – The King and Queen of italian wine”.
A prestigious event that will present the Barbaresco DOCG 2016 in all its nuances, but that is also an opportunity to immerse themselves in the many facets of the Barbaresco itself, in its history, tradition, essence, land, origin,… to tell its own story and stories.
A fundamental appointment in which Barbaresco will be the only protagonist


Nuances of shades, substances and flavours that blend harmoniously for 26 months until Barbaresco DOCG 2016 is born.

Nuances of colours and gradations of the soil in which the grapes have developed, such as precise and clear characteristics of the territory, exposure, land and climate.
Nuances of different people who, with passion and love, have worked these grapes and waited with emotion and devotion for this wine to be ready.
Nuances of stories, secrets and essences become the many facets that every Barbaresco can give to you and you can “feel” from the first taste.
Many nuances, which come together to “compose” a single final element: the Barbaresco.


The event will start on Sunday 28 April with an invitation-only day exclusively reserved for the Italian and international press that will be inaugurated with a Masterclass held by Kerin O’Keefe, voice of Barbaresco DOCG 2016, which will tell the story of this vintage and will introduce and taste 18 labels from as many wineries. After, a guided tour of Neive Castle and its historic cellars and a tour of the MGA, accompanied by Giancarlo Montaldo, journalist and wine expert. The day will end with an exclusive dinner in which journalists and professionals will meet the producers.


Monday 29 april the event moving to the premises of the historic cellar of Castle of Neive, with a catwalk that will gather at the tasting benches about fifty producers who will bring for tasting different vintages of Barbaresco, in addition to Barbaresco DOCG 2016. After a morning of tasting exclusively reserved for the Italian and foreign press, in the afternoon the doors will open to all operators in the sector, buyers, professional sommeliers and Wine Lovers – by booking and purchasing the entrance ticket – who will have the opportunity to taste the best vintages of Barbaresco and Barbaresco DOCG 2016 facing directly the Producer.
