Cellar

Marchesi di Barolo

Founded in the 19th century, the winery is based in Barolo, in the building overlooking the Castle of the Marchesi Falletti. The historical cellars were taken over by Pietro Abbona and brothers at the end of the nineteenth century and remain owned by the family to this day. The choice of the Abbona family is to be a faithful interpreter of the diversity of places and native vines, strictly preserving the typicality due to the composition of the soils in the lower Piedmont. The estate owns 90 hectares of property, 200 hectares in total between properties, rentals and managed by third parties.

In 2016 Marchesi di Barolo acquires Cascina Bruciata, a small winery located in the Rio Sordo in Barbaresco active since 1880, whose full autonomy and identity is maintained. Cascina Brucitta was certified organic in 2015.

Total annual production: 1.400.000 btl
Barbaresco annual production: 70.000 btl
