The 2017 vintage began with a mild and low snowy winter and a rather warm spring. In April some areas of the production region were affected by an early hailstorm followed by frost and subsequent rains. Summer was hot and dry, leading to an early harvest. The generally dry and particularly warm climate has stressed the vine and reduced the potential quantity of vineyards with productions of 12% below average.
The Barbaresco 2017 is particularly ready to drink, with a nice color between ruby and garnet. The nose is a broad and rich scent between the fruity and the floral but already spicy; the taste is harmonious and elegant, of beautiful fabric and pleasantness. The 2017 vintage leaves us wines of great perspective, confirming the great adaptability of the Mistoeoli and the vocation of our hills.
Barbaresco’s potential vine was 759 hectares of vineyards and the actual production was 4,213,585 bottles, 12% less than the year before.
